Are there academic scholarships available? No. Heartland Lutheran High School offers financial assistance through the Mark 14:10 program, but that financial aid is need based aid to ensure everyone who wants a Christ-centered education has access to a Heartland Lutheran education. Are there provisions for after school care? The school day will end at 3:35 pm beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year. From 3:35-4:10 pm Heartland Lutheran High school offers extra help for those students who need it through our Hornet Help Tutoring Program. All students who are not involved in an activity and under the direct supervision of a coach or advisor are expected to be picked up by 4:00 pm.
Does the school have a lunch program? Heartland Lutheran High School does not currently make food on campus for the students. However, food is brought in from vendors a few days a week that can be ordered by the students. Currently these options include pizza and pasta. Heartland Lutheran High School is investigating the possibilities of expanding this service.
Does the school provide transportation? Other than for school activities and events Heartland Lutheran High School does not currently offer transportation services. However, we do encourage families to look into carpooling as we have students traveling from all over Central Nebraska. Parents can contact the school office (308-385-3900 or office@heartlandlutheran.org) to help identify other families in their area to discuss a carpool.
What is the length and details of a normal school day? Currently the Heartland Lutheran school day runs from 8:10 am - 3:35 pm. The day consists of eight 45 minute class periods, a 25 minute house or chapel period, and lunch.
What about grade updates? Heartland Lutheran High School provides 24/7 grade access to students and parents through Sycamore Education. You can access Sycamore at https://app.sycamoreeducation.com/index.php. If you need your username or password please contact the school (308-385-3900 or office@heartlandlutheran.org).
Does Heartland Lutheran have school uniforms? Heartland Lutheran High School does have a school dress code, but not school uniforms. When can students arrive on campus? Officially the doors of Heartland Lutheran High School open at 7:30 am for students. We do try and have someone on campus by 7:15 am to open doors.
