Academics
Our curriculum is uniquely focused on the needs of our students with many opportunities for them to pursue their goals and to challenge themselves. We are justifiably proud of the academic achievements of the students at Heartland Lutheran High School, both past and present. Whatever the vocational calling or the university chosen, we believe that our students are prepared both academically and in the knowledge of their faith as they go out into the world.
Heartland Lutheran Academics:
· 88% of our graduates from the last five years have furthered their education beyond high school.
· 48% went to a four year college/university, while 40% went to a 2 year community college or vocational school.
· 84% of our graduates over the last five years took the ACT. The average score is a 22.4. Nebraska state average is 21.9 and the national average is 21.0 for the same time period.
· The average ACT for the top 25% of the class is 27.6. The average for the top 50% of the class is 24.1.
Graduation Requirements:
To graduate from Heartland Lutheran High School, students must earn 280 credits during their four years, that is 240 credits plus five credits of theology for every semester of enrollment. Following are the minimum credit hours to be earned in each department:
