The Purpose

 

The purpose of The Blue Cross Society is to foster and promote the operation of Heartland Lutheran High School by providing ongoing financial support. 

 

The Goal

To gather commitments from 250 families to provide annual financial support.

 

We are looking for families to pledge $50 to $1,000 or more in donations per year on an ongoing basis.  We are hoping to average $400 per year per family resulting in $100,000 of annual operational support for Heartland Lutheran High School.

 

This solid, important, and wide-spread support is key to the success of Heartland Lutheran High School!

Why The Blue Cross Society?

Posted on our east building since its construction is a cross, painted blue.  Our west building features a blue metal cross as part of the front façade.  This cross was integrated into the construction even though the bonds that were secured at that time prohibited religious symbols from being added to the building. 

 

These blue crosses have come to represent the reason that Heartland Lutheran exists and the struggles that we have faced.  Those who        belong to The Blue Cross Society support the mission of HLHS, in spite of the world’s attempts to diminish our efforts to serve the Lord. 

 

Reasons to Join the Society

1)  HLHS is making a difference in the lives of its students.  We pledge that HLHS students will be encouraged to be bold Christians, challenged through rigorous academics, motivated to serve others, taught leadership skills, protected in a safe environment, cared for as unique children of God, and guided through the maturation process.  This pledge is being fulfilled.

 

2)  HLHS students are growing in their faith in Jesus Christ, so much so that a number of them have desire to serve God and others through full-time church work.  Other students without a church home are now hearing the Gospel message every day.

 

3)  The leadership of HLHS wants to make sure that the school will be a positive influence on the youth of our community for generations to come.  In order to ensure this, continued and increasing financial support is needed.  Every gift counts, so you can make a difference today.

 

 

Giving to support the operation of HLHS is nothing new.  Even years before the doors opened, numerous donors were already pledging financial support to make HLHS a reality.  Over the years, different campaigns have been sponsored to raise funds to help cover operating expenses.  Those campaigns include “Ten Years & Beyond,” and “Noah’s Ark / Ark Stabilizers.”  People have given anywhere from $10 to $100+ per month.  Some choose to give quarterly or annually.  Our greatest need is donations to our annual fund for general operations.  That’s why we have launched The Blue Cross Society. 

 

We hope to have an annual event for everyone who is part of The Blue Cross Society.  If you are giving to any other HLHS giving program that supports general operations, we will count you as a member of The Blue Cross Society, as we will be phasing out these other programs.
