OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT HLHS

ANNUAL FUND TO SUPPORT OPERATIONS


Heartland Lutheran High School relies on donations and gifts to help support the operation of the school.  Almost 50% of our needed income comes from donations and fundraisers.  The annual fund includes many different opportunities to give.  You can . . . 

  • Make a one time or annual gift.

  • Join our newest giving club, The Blue Cross Society (see below).

  • Multiply your giving by pledging a monthly gift.

  • Participate in a fundraiser (see below).

  • Give grain as part of Bushels of Blessings program.

  • Donate a vehicle, antique, or other item for our ebay store - more information coming soon.

  • Be a Hornet Sponsor for a day to recognize a special event in your life.

FUNDRAISERS

 

HLHS hosts numerous fundraisers during the year.  Those fundraisers include . . .

  • State Fair food booth

  • Golf Scramble

  • Fall Fest

  • Meat Sale

  • Red & Blue Dinner and Auction

 

We also participate in the . . . 

  • Third City Steak Feed

  • Go Big Give!

 

Different classes and student organizations also have various fundraisers during the school year.

FROM HERE TO ETERNITY CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

 

From Here To Eternity was begun in October 2011 and has the goal of raising money to reduce our debt, help make interest payments on the mortgage, grow endowment, and launch a number of new initiatves.  More information can be found on the From Here To Eternity page.  Just click here!

TUITION ASSISTANCE

 

Although we try to keep tuition as reasonable as possible, it is still too much for many of our families.  So, we have an extensive tuition assistance program to provide grants to families who have demonstrated financial need.  We are thankful for the families who support tuition assistance and our adopt a student program.  The Fall Fest fundraiser also raises money for tuition assistance.  

 

About 40% of our families receive a grant through this program and over $50,000 was awarded last year.

PLANNED GIVING / ESTATE GIFTS

 

A number of people have remember HLHS in their estate plans, providing a bequest to HLHS.  These gifts have been a huge blessing to the launch and operation of HLHS over the years.  

MEMORIALS

 

We owe a great debt to those, in their grief of losing a loved one, have selected to provide memorial gifts to HLHS.  We are thankful for the many great donors who have continued their support to HLHS even after their passing.

Ways to support Heartland Lutheran High School!

Are you a Thrivent member?  There is a new program that started in 2010 called Thrivent Choice.  You can call Thrivent or go online and donate Choice Dollars to Heartland Lutheran without having to write a check.  This program is growing in popularity and it is a way that you can continue to assist the ministry at Heartland Lutheran High School!  If you have any questions please feel free to call Tina at 308-385-3900.

HORNET DAY SPONSOR

We are thankful for those who support our general operations by regular giving through “Ten Years & Beyond,” “Noah’s Ark / Ark Stabilizers,” and other programs.  These people give anywhere from $10 to $100+ per month.  Some choose to give quarterly or annually.  During our 2013-2014 fiscal year,   donors gave just over $100,000 to Heartland Lutheran through these programs.  As mentioned on the other side of this form, our greatest need is donations to our annual fund for general operations.  That’s why we are launching The Blue Cross Society. 

 

Why The Blue Cross Society?  Posted on our east building since its construction is a cross, painted blue.  Our west building features a blue metal cross as part of the front façade.  This cross was integrated into the construction even though the bonds that were secured at that time prohibited religious symbols from being added to the building.  These blue crosses have come to represent the reason that Heartland Lutheran exists and the struggles that we have faced.  Those who belong to The Blue Cross Society support the mission of HLHS, in spite of the world’s attempts to diminish our efforts to serve the Lord. 

 

We hope to have an annual event for everyone who is part of The Blue Cross Society.  If you are giving to any other HLHS giving program that supports general operations, we will count you as a member of The Blue Cross Society, as we will be phasing out these other programs.

 

We invite you to make a multi-year or unending commitment to annually support the operation of Heartland Lutheran through The Blue Cross Society.

Heartland Lutheran High School is working with a new company to make all of these things easier for the friends of HLHS. Click on the buttons and check it out!

A NEW GIVING OPPORTUNITY!  SPONSOR A SIGN IN THE HLHS GYM!

 

We are putting up 18 signs that are approximately 4' x 8' in our gym, each with a Bible verse with a sponsor listed below each sign!  Check out this link for more information.  The sponsorship is only $800 per year and is limnited to the first 18.

HLHS has launched a new campaign in order to raise funds to meet our current financial needs and to secure funds to implement a new strategic plan that focuses on development, marketing and recruitment and calls for the hiring of a new Director of Advancement.
