Heartland Lutheran High School’s Athletic and Activity Programs are intended to facilitate participation in interscholastic sports and events.  The programs encourage students to further develop spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and socially.  Students will be encouraged to do their best to the glory of God. 

 

HLHS competes against other public and private high schools.  Many athletic programs include both varsity and junior varsity teams.  HLHS views junior varsity athletic or interscholastic competitive programs as a way to develop student athletes and participants.  All students desiring to participate will have the opportunity to do so and will receive playing time (although equal playing time is not guaranteed).  HLHS views varsity athletic programs as competitive interscholastic programs and has the goal to be as successful as possible in these programs.  In other words, the goal is to win.  Therefore, playing time or roster positions are not   guaranteed to all those who wish to participate.
